I wish everyone a great 4th of July!

Next weekend we have our annual summer camp. I am so excited this year it's going to be so much fun. Here is the sample for the project we are doing.

It's quilted with christmas trees. I love it! I will take pictures and post more about this after next weekend so I don't give away any surprises for camp attendees.

I am bring up the rear for state fair schnibbles and for charmed between friends but making progess on both. I really am enjoying both projects

Quilt A Long...

It was 105 today in Havasu...I need to stay inside and keep cool.

I am joining in the Quilt A Long over at Charming Chatter. Kelly has made Darlene's Between Friends quilts with charm squares and each week she is giving us some instructions. It's still not too late to join in. I have picked my fabric begun cutting and today Kelly has listed some stitching instructions. I will post some pics this week showing what I have accomplished. In the mean time hope over and she what is going on....

I've been very very bad....

I have NOT been keeping up on my blogging. I am going to try and do better. I miss my blogger friends.

So, I am going to start with some info updates...

Schnibble is still going on.. I am way behind .. this month is State Fair.

A couple of charms packs and some minor yardage you are good to go...

I learned over at Carol's there is a quilt along with Kelly using Darlene's Just Between Friends Tutorial. It's a Great quilt and the quilt along is featuring a smaller version but, you can make the original as well if you like.. they are just starting on cutting this week. You can still join in head over to see what all the fuss is about!!

Sharon at Red Geranium Cottage turns 50 and opens a new webstore "Daisy Cottage Quilting" You might stop in and see if there is anything you leave without!!

I hosting this years Summer Camp with my friend Jeanette. It is held in Laughlin for a whole weekend! We have picked a pattern and made samples. 38 fabulous quilters are coming along to join in on the fun. It is in July so I have time to get my goodies made up. I have actually started that's a good thing... I am so excited, I think Tata is coming along again this year.

Well, it's been so long I could go on and on.. won't though, I will save some blogging for another day.. would just like to close and say...

The scnibbles parade for the Roundabout can be seen here and here. The parades are so much fun to see. Everyone uses different fabrics and they all look so great!

It's good weather now, the boats are coming to the lake once again..... and we are enjoying this time of year in Havasu. It will be hot before we know it.

We are still very busy around here March flew by so quickly. Dillon's pics are on my newphone... I am still learning how to use my new phone so there will be a pic here real soon.

He is such a cutie if I don't say so .. well, I'm just saying.. lol

U Stamp Spring Soiree 2010

I am so excited!! I signed up for this wonderful opportunity.. we are going to have so much fun. I am getting started late since I have been out of town.. I am hoping to get caught up here and show off my creativity.
I am getting samples ready for Summer Camp 2010 quilt retreat also. I will be posting them. We had a great time in Laughlin last year and this year our theme is Christmas Jingles in July!
I have a new grandson since we last visited. His name is Dillon and is ohhh sooo cute! We got a sister for Khloe.. (our dog) her name is Daisy.. she is a handful and we are working hard to make her a great addition.
The quilt store is doing wonderful and keeps me ever so busy. The weather is starting to get really nice here in Havasu also. I heard the lake was very busy .. some say it was busier than Memorial Weekend.. we just finished having Spring Break here so alot of people were in town.

Good Morning, I did not finish but, I wanted to show you I have been working on my Oct Schnibbles. It's Cindy Lou Who and I am using Holly Jolly by Moda. I spent some time going to all the participants blogs and there is some absolutely wonderful projects out there. Everybody's Doing It.....

I keep seeing Churndash blocks everywhere.. I decided to do it too!! They really go together quickly.

Tata and finished block 10 of the 2009 Mystery BOM from The Fat Quarter Shop.. we are almost done and then we will meet at one or the others house to put it all together.. we are going to have so much fun.
I have lots of little things to finish today. I am going to finish putting together my schnibbles for September and pick out fabrics for the October 'Cindy Lou Who'. I think I might do Christmas.

Friday Fright Night.. SU Class

Last night was Stamping night.. we had alot of fun! We made sweet treat cards, peppermint patty spiders, witches hats, spider webs and then we watercolored a pumpkin patch. Grandma made Apple Cake and it was delish as usual... she says she can't attend class without bringing a treat. Caramel with sliced apples and pumpkins full of candy was also displayed.

I didn't finish the Sept Schnibble project. I wanted to post what I had up on my wall so you know I am attempting it. Am I the only one????????? I chose Fabulous Fall by Moda. I am hoping to complete it for my dining room table for this fall season.

Schnibbles News!!

Hello again.. and before the weekend! I have some great news. I joined the girls over at " A year of Scnibbles". I thought it would be a great way to meet some new bloggers and stay connected with some bloggers I already know.... I saw they had some quilt shops featured for the progam and wondered if they could use another one. So, I wondered on over and asked.

GUESS WHAT... they said yes. I am honored to be a featured quilt shop for the Schnibbles club.

Winter White is our first project. Every month we are going to have a parade of finished projects. This is going to be so much fun. I believe we have 80 gals. I am looking forward to seeing all the different looks as we won't all use the same fabric. I will be featuring the pattern, kit's with pattern, or just fabric alone each month.

Thank you Sinta and Sherri this is going to be alot of fun!

Would you expect anything less.. LOL I just realized it's my 102nd post. I should give you a little history... It all started with this.

June 2008... Miss Geranium. Yes, Miss Sharon, it's all her fault. I was one of the no blog club and just read everyone elses'... now and again I would comment. I decided to join her cupcake swap because it sounded so much fun. Sharon asked about my blog... well, I didn't have one. Of course you must know what came next... yes, she said you can do it and the rest is history. I don't write in it daily and sometimes not even weekly. But, I am trying to turn a new leaf as they say. I plan to update you as much as I can on whatever I am doing.. I hope you will follow along.

So. . . as my DH would say... "With that said"... Let's have a giveaway. Since I just realized I passed my 100th post and this wasn't planned I don't have anything together yet.. Bunches to Blog About....

I have not posted and so much to tell you .. first I want to show you what came in the mail from the F R E I N D S swap I was in... Cailtlin Thank you so much!

I just realized looking at the pic that the book she sent me is missing. There were lots of goodies, some homespun fabrics, embelishments, cute handmade gauze bag, notecards and tablet, a vintage crafted notebook and the book missing is soldered trinket jewelry. A friend of mine has all the tools and we have talked about getting together and she will show me how to do it.

Carol's Crafty Creations had a giveaway.. I won this cute pincushion along with a generous sample of her new favorite filling. Crushed walnut shells. Thank you Carol! I think I will be using these from now on. You can get a bag a Petsmart. Probably at your local feed stores also.

The Pincushion swap deadline was July 18th... there a few I have not heard from. Please email if you haven't sent out. I will be posting all the pincushion picture in one post this week. I have seen some really creative work out there. Everyone did a great job so far.

Pincushion Updates, New Fabric.....

I had so much fun picking a name for this game... The winner is Jeanne Cupertino!!

Congrats to all of you who entered. The quilt blocks you mentioned were great. I learned some new ones.

I have heard that a few swappers have recieved their pincushions.. I can't wait to see them.

I have a couple pics and will post them as soon as I know they are safe in the recipients hands...

I posted some new fabric in my newsletter and thought it was very summery. It reminds me of cotton candy and I thought I would share it with you. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do...

Pincushion Swapper Game and 1 year Blogaversary!!!!

I can't believe it been a whole year. I have had so much fun and met so many wonderful people. At times, I don't always get around to viewing alot of blogs because I have alot of things going on.. and other times I spend hours just lurking. I love seeing all the creations that are made out there. I hope to be able to blog more often this coming year. You never know what you might see, so please come stop by now and again. Leave a comment on this post with your favorite quilt pattern and your name will go into a drawing something quilty!!!!!!!

I am going to make this pattern. I just got an AccuCut with the quilt store and I can't wait to try it out. The pattern is designed to be used with your own templates you make or can be cut with AccuCut dies. How fun is that?

Well, The move is done.. now some organizing.... I am almost there and it's a Happy Day! I will be doing the Pincushion partner swapping Monday. I will email you all with your partners information. Catch up & Monday Challenge.....

I haven't posted from my Friday night stamp classes much this is one of the cards we made last week.. I called it my quilt card. It uses the Top Note die cut from Stampin Up. We cut out some squares from different Designer Paper then put them on a piece of cardstock and ran it through the machine. There is paper piercing all around the edges also.This is the inside of the card. When you use the Top Note die cut you are left with a frame. I had the girls center it the best they could and we placed it inside the card.

Tata and I have been working on the BOM from The Fat Quarter Shop the last two Sunday via Webcam.. we are a little behind.. that is blocks 1 & 2.. but, we are determined to get them done and we get to chat while sewing as if we were right next to each other. We are having alot of fun. After this one, we have another one that we both particated in from Cabbage Rose Quilting.

Now, onto Monday Challenge.. I worked on getting the garage cleared out all weekend.. You would think I should have lost about 10 pounds just walking up and down the stairs, lifting, lugging and pushing boxes around and sweating like crazy in the Havasu heat.. LOL Sad to say.. I did NOT lose 10 pounds. I did lose .75 pounds. I will take it. I am hoping that this next week we will see more. My muscles are pretty sore though and I heard that they can actually make you show a gain.. so we will see. Good luck to everyone else.. I know Khris is watching out there.. Oh and there is the general.. she is busy filling up dumpsters.

Monday's Confession...

First I wanted to say Hello!! It's been a week since my last confession.... Please forgive me for I have sinned.... I ate, I ate some more and then I ate a s'more! We had family over Saturday night and had dinner and a bonfire... yes, we have a fire pit and we have fires .. it's alot of fun. The only thing is .. we ALWAYS make s'mores. I have no weight loss. I really need to say NO. This week I am really trying to have a loss.

I am busy cleaning my garage... I have a couple weeks to complete it. I have something more to confess.... are you ready????? I have been busy trying to get things organized for the arrival of my new baby... well, no I am not having a "baby" ... I have a new online quilt store.. It's called Havasu Quilts.. yes, I am the owner .. I AM SOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED. Weekend Wrapped Up....

I promised some pics.. I had a busy weekend. Friday night was Stamp night. We had a small class but, as usual we all had fun. I've been wanting to make a Dahlia card for some time now. It's made with a 5 petal flower punch. The Easter Chick is a CASE from JHstamps. You can find her at Splitcoast Stampers. I thought the split card was a cute idea also. In the middle of the card on the left side there is a brad the allows the top half to move open and reveal the sentiment.

Saturday Havasu Stitchers celebrated National Quilting Day at the College. We had alot of people there doing demo's. We had a long armer there quilting on one of our Quilt of Valor projects. Our Quilt Show Opportunity Quilt was there and raffle tickets were being sold. I have some pics of the days events.

Monday Challenge...

It's loser Monday and I am late posting. Our friendship meeting was tonight. It was alot of fun as usual. I have pictures to post from our Saturday National Quilt Day but they will have to wait til tomorrow. I did not have a huge loss but I will take it 3/4 of a pound. My hubby was home over the weekend and I cooked for him and I ate with him too... LOL I will be visiting around to see what the other challengers did... I will post some fun stuff tomorrow

Challenge - Exercise as promised...

Power curl1 -->
Stand with feet slightly wider than hip-width apart, a weight in each hand. Shrug left shoulder toward ear; release, then bend right elbow and curl weight to under right armpit as you extend left arm out to side at shoulder height (as shown). Release arms. Do 25 reps. Switch sides; repeat.

Ok now ladies.. don't tell me you don't have any weights... you can go to your pantry and get a can.. they weigh 1 pound and you can start there. Have fun!!!

Monday Challenge

Well Miss Sharon asked us to post a fruited muffin recipe.. I have a good one!!

This comes from HungryGirls recipe book.. it has sooo many wonderful recipes.. I am trying to make them all.

Peach-Blueberry Oatmeal Muffinmania

1 1/2 cups regular oats ( not instant )

1/2 cup flour

2 Jell-O Sugar Free Vanilla Pudding Snacks

1 cup canned peaches drained and chopped

1/2 cup blueberries

1/2 cup fat free liquid egg substitute

3 Tbls light vanilla soymilk

2 Tbls light whipped butter

1/4 cup plus 2 Tbls dark brown sugar (not packed)

2 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp salt

Preheat oven to 375.

Combine oats, flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt in a large bowl, stir well.

In a separate bowl, combine pudding, butter, soymilk and egg substitute. Blend well with a whisk. Add pudding mixture to dry mixture, stir until just blended. Fold in peaches and blueberries.

Divide mixture into a 12 cup muffin pan sprayed with nonstick spray or lined with baking cups.

Bake for 18 minutes or a toothpick comes out clean.

Makes 12 servings. WW Pts = 2 per serving

Merry Go Round....

I didn't get much done today as I was feeling a little bit under the weather. I managed to get my Summer Camp sample up on the design wall. The pattern is called Merry Go Round and I used 1 Jelly Roll, Sanctuary from Moda. The pattern calls for 2 but my sample is to show a variation in sizes. Sunday I hope to sew the rows together and have the top close to completion. Who knows I may send this a certain someone to quilt for me. Keep Smiling!

Challenge Monday

It's been a week that's for sure. I haven't lost or gained. I know what that means I need to get exercising. I have been so busy and not made time for it. I don't have a choice now. So, looks like the TV and I will once again become acquainted. :( The benefits will be sweet.. Oh now I didn't mean sweet as in sugar sweet!! Way to go Jen.. Keep up the good work with not smoking. Friday the 13th good luck Blogaversary...

I can hardly believe I made it! Took me a long time to get to 50 posts.. so I thought I would have a giveaway for my few loyal readers. What better day to get lucky and win than Friday the 13th! All you have to do is leave a comment and share a quilting tip. I will put all names in a drawing and choose a winner on Sunday morning. This is what you get.. 2 Moda Charm packs "Poetry Collection" by April Cornell... and count them.. 13 spools of thread no two colors the same. Now who can't use thread?? I know many people applique so there is a variety of colors.

Tonight was the brown bag reveal at out Guild meeting. You had to put minimum 5 fat quarters with a holiday theme in a brown bag. You could tell the person what you might like in the way of a project. I got Halloween fabrics and in my last post you saw I made a Happy Jacks table runner with Kim's Big Quilting Adventure tutorial. Carolyn Holcomb was the recipent and she really liked it. I have a picture of the result from fabrics I put into my brown bag. I put fat quarters from a stack I purchased from Miss Geranium Take a Bough for Christmas. I LOVE MY RUNNER made for me by Loretta Frilot.

Last but not least.. I will be the best smelling girl in Havasu and wherever I go for that matter. My blog win from Deb over at Cucaroo arrived today. I will post pics on Saturday when I have more time to arrange the little perfume samples. I am soooo amazed at the very creative packaging these days. Thank you again Deb!!

Now that my brown bag is done I can focus on my summer camp project and my quilts that I will be hanging in my booth at the quilt show this year. Havasu Stitchers is having their quilt show this year. It's a great show and if you are in our town first of November please come by. I will post more details later. Also, we will be having our annual Quilting At the Lake event in January and had to increase it to 5 days. Shar Jorgenson is coming back this year and several other teachers. I will be posting details for that later if you are interested. It's so much fun!! I have been very lucky to move here and have such a great guild to belong to.

Stipple Smipple........Giveaway Info!

I spent this evening doing some 'stippling' something

that most say is very fun and easy.. Uh huh.. well,

I figured it would be easy.. because................. I cheated

and got some Stipples made easy paper.. LOL Look at this...

It's hard to tell but this is my Happy Jacks table runner.

I managed to finally get all the paper off the runner and cleaned up my mess. All I have

to do is sew down the binding.

This is a Brown Bag Swap with my quild. I hope the recipent likes it. I know her and think she will understand this is only my second time stippling. Oh yes, it is true, I piece tops.. I don't quilt. I really need to get more practice though and get more tops quilted.

Well, the calendar says Friday the 13th tomorrow.. and people think that is unlucky. I think my blog will turn 50 .. LOL yes.. only 50 after blogging all this time. Soooooooo, check back on Friday the 13th to see how you can be lucky and win my blogaversary giveaway!

Another Loser Monday

I didn't have a chance to weigh in. I tried really hard to be good this week. I go to
the doctor next week so I will weigh in and report. We were asked to bring a soup
recipe today. I don't actually have a recipe... but, I wanted to share about Progressive
soups. I had an opportunity to partake in a sale... $1.33 a can. WoW, I got several.
The WW points are mostly 0 and 1. The flavor is very good!!! I really like the pot roast one.
So, if you have a chance, try one.. you just might like them.
No pictures yet and nothing much to share.. I have been very busy with some deadlines.

And it's not 3 strikes your out!!!!!! It's 3 times a winner.
I couldn't hardly believe it. In the past 2 weeks I have
won things from 3 different bloggers. First I won over
at Red Geranium Cottage ya the "diet nazi "over there.
Well, I was "paying attention" for once. I answered all
the questions correctly and I won a great giftie that goes
wonderfully on my reading chair.. just look it came
today....

Loser Monday, Recipe, WW Find and a giveaway..

WOW.. long title there.. LOL So to get right to the point.. no weight loss but INCHES loss. Girls remember.. that scale doesn't tell everything going on with your body... inches count also. Clothes start getting looser.. that's great news!

I am a carrot cake lover... it's my fav cake. I saw the Hostess 100 cal carrot cakes... I had to try them... they are pretty good and you get a pack of 3 little cakes.. ONLY 1 WW pts.... YEAHHHH it's truly a nice treat mid-moring.. or in the afternoon.

My recipe is a good find. I haven't calculated the total pts but it is very good and all low fat. I was invited to Grandma's and I brought desert.

Peanut Butter Pie

1/2 P-nut butter ( sugar free)
1 C powdered sugar
1/4 C Milk - Lowfat
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 (8oz) cream cheese softened Lowfat

1 ( 8ox) tub whipped topping lowfat

Ice cream topping- Magic shell
1 Cookie Pie Crust - chocolate/lowfat (they do have them)

In large bowl combine 1st 5 ingredients. Blend with a hand mixer. Gently fold in whipped topping. Fill Pie shell. Freeze for 2 hours. Drizzle chocolate topping on top of pie. Re-freeze for additional 20 mins. Thaw slightly before serving. Pie is rich you only need a thin slice.
You could make this with all regular ingredients.. but it really is a rich pie.

Great for warm weather treats.

Happy Jacks In My Brown Bag......

I have been busy. Turtle ( my friend) is in Florida for a few weeks. I help package her website orders when she is gone. Friday night I packed 5 orders and was going to stop by Saturday morning to put the box out for postman on my way to my second job doing taxes. I opened the front door and had an eyes view to the master bedroom... it looked like a half dozen chickens had been plucked in there.. well, she had a pipe leaking in the ceiling and the part of it had fallen down.. good thing I had to go back or it would have been leaking a few days before I saw.. so I spent most of Saturday helping her via phone to get this all repaired.. we were successful!! SO.. my sewing that was planned got pushed to Sunday.. I have been working on the brown bag swap with our guild.. I got a brown bag full of Halloween fabrics and the gals note said she would like a table runner. Her name is Carolyn and she doesn't know I have her bag til it's revealed this month at our meeting. I thought for a bit and decided to do my take on Kim's Happy Jacks Tutorial. I am doing a runner aposed to her quilt topper. Here is what I have so far..

Not very good pics.. I had so many ideas for borders til I went to sew.. LOL I am not good at designing.. Kim had very good instructions for the pumpkins they went together very good. I also am working on her St. Patricks Tutorial.. when I get it more done I will post it too. I made a great desert today.. will post for Losers Monday! I need to check my posts.. I have been blogging for awhile but not consistently.. soooo, I think a giveaway will be in order very soon!

Merry Go Round....Challenge.... New Week!

Up and running again......

Happy day!!!! My computer is back in business. I can continue my blogging journey again. Tonight was my 3rd Friday night stamp class. My regulars were here and we had a blast. It has been too long since we last met. I was not a good challenger as we had pizza for dinner. I will be back on track tomorrow. From I have read I am not the one that fell off the wagon.. seems the diet master herself did a little indulging with a fellow blogger. It's OK we all have weak moments. Psssst.. she can't yell at us this week since she started the chain.. LOL

Loser Monday Share

I have had a pretty good week. I lost 2 pounds. I wanted to share some info I found out. Was really perfect timing. My friend Karen invited me over for dinner Sunday. She cooked something I hadn't tried before. Contessa Shrimp stir fry ( frozen everything in the bag) with flour tortillas. Sorta like fajitas when you come right down to it. It was very good! Today I get my Hungry Girl email .. low and behold she is talking about this very product. YIPEEE was I glad to see that my portion was 3- 4 Weight Watchers pts. AND they provided a coupon LOL I will be buying this in the future. You could have it with rice or even noodles.

I am working on some quilty samples that I will share when they are done. I hope all of you have a great week!

My little man is "5"..... Mother of the Bride....

I am off to Chandler to see my grandson turn 5 on Saturday! It's just outside of Phoenix for those of you who don't know. I think is so handsome. Then after the birthday party I off to the Bridal store to see my daughters wedding dress and try on the mother of the bride dress....The wedding is in September and she is just about done with all the details. Now to some fun stuff.. Quilting at the lake was so much fun. I learned some great techniques and was amongst wonderful friends. Friday was Shar Jorgenson and we made this table runner.

Saturday was Road to Oaklahoma with Debbie Caffrey, she was so much fun and had a trunk show in the middle of class.. it was fabulous!!

My Absence, Mom's Memory, QATL 2009, My Challenge...

I have been away from the computer for awhile. I have alot to report.

Some of you that know me know my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and given a short time to live. She battled 17 long months and surprised the doctor everytime she walked through the doors. She wasn't ready to leave and fought. Mom lost that battle January 15th, peacefully in her sleep. I will miss her alot.

I attended our annual quild Quilting At The Lake 2009 before getting the call that Mom's time was nearing. I took a class Friday night with Shar Jorgensen and a class all day Saturday with Debbie Caffrey. It was a very great learning experience. Shar and Debbie both offered trunk shows and they were fabulous. I have lots of pictures and will post them tomorrow. This is annual and open to anyone. I will announce info for the 2010 classes as we get the teachers scheduled.

I signed up for Sharon's challenge and was determined to do well. I had lost 83 pounds several years ago and let some of it creep back. Since the loss of my mom, I have decided that this challenge is very important to me. Both my parents have been taken by cancer and at a very young age, my dad 3 years ago at age 67 and my mom would have been 70 February 5. I just turned 50 and have challenged myself to be as healthy as I can. Sharon wanted us to post a before picture, since I was out of town I will be posting it on Monday. Better late than never, I hope I don't scare anyone away!

Tomorrow will be filled with alot of pictures.. I hope you will enjoy the quilts and cover your eyes with my before picture.. LOL

Oh I think my posts are listing oldest to newest.. I don't know how that happened.. can you tell me how to correct that?

Part of my new year goal was to share more of what I do and love with others. One of those things is rubber stamping. I am an Independent Stampin Up Demonstrator. We are celebrating our 20th year. Day 1... not so bad!

Today started the 2009 Diet. I had a pretty good day. Tomorrow will be better, and the next even better. Whenever I am motivated and start my program I always allow for rewards. My rewards are still within plan but something that I wouldn't normally eat during the week. Usually Sat or Sun. I wanted to share something that is really good. I try to follow Weight Watchers so I will share things that have points attached for anyone else who is doing WW. I will reward myself with this on Sunday so I have all week to shop for the ingrediets. I hope you all have a great week!!

Gimme S'more Sundae

PER SERVING (entire sundae): 175 calories, 2g fat, 109mg sodium, 38.5g carbs, 4g fiber, 24g sugars, 3.5g protein -- POINTS® value 3*

S'mores and ice cream?!? Prepare yourself for chocolatey graham-tastic marshmallow mania!

Ingredients:
1/2 cup Breyers Double Churn Free French Chocolate fat-free ice cream
2 tbsp. Jet-Puffed Marshmallow Creme (only 1 tbsp. will actually end up on your sundae), room temperature
2 low-fat honey graham crackers (half a sheet), lightly crushed
1 tsp. mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
4 tbsp. Fat Free Reddi-wip

Directions:
Place ice cream in a dessert bowl. Set aside. Carefully place marshmallow creme into one of the bottom corners of a Ziploc baggie. Use scissors to snip a tiny hole from the outside end of that corner, and squeeze 1 tbsp. of the creme (the rest will stick to the bag!) over your ice cream in a drizzle. Then top with the graham cracker pieces and chocolate chips. Finish it all off with a generous squirt of the Reddi-whip. Enjoy!

MAKES 1 SERVING

Tip! If your marshmallow creme is less-than-fresh or fridge temperature, warm creme in the microwave for about 10 - 15 seconds (just long enough to soften it).

Hello all my blogland friends. I have been away a bit and I have no excuses. Guess what.. if you missed me I am back. Lots of things on the calendar this year for me and I get to share them with you. Hopefully I will learn how to charm you, speak with wit, learn to use my camera more... so yeah, you are laughing too?? How about I just share all the wonderful things that happen this year, oh I imagine there may a thing or two not so wonderful but I know we will get through them. Happy New Year!

Ok, for starters... this weekend is our Annual Quilting at the Lake here in Havasu and I get to take classes with two National teachers Shar Jorgenson and Debbie Caffrey. I am VERY exctied. I am challenged with Miss Geranium and the group to lose all the unwanted weight I seem to have found. Go check it out of you are interested.
My daughter got engaged at Christmas and a Sept Wedding is planned. Our Quilt Guild the Havasu Stitchers is having our annual Summer Camp in July and I am helping in the planning this year. I am working on quilts for the Havasu Quilt Show in November and will be helping Turtle in the Vendor Booth for Havasu Quilts. Thats quilting, then there is my stamping. I am a Stampin Up demonstrator and host stamp classes every 3rd Friday of the month, if you are ever in Havasu come on over... not to mention all the things that will spring up in between. I hope you will come to visit often and see what I am doing.

Demo Stamp Camp with Paula Goff

It's a special treat this time of year when Paula Goff comes to Lake Havasu City. Paula vacations here every year. The local Stampin Up Demonstrators get together and we have our own little stamp camp. Paula shows us so many fun things. Who doesn't like getting together and playing all day!!!!!! There were 7 of us total. My batteries were DEAD!!!! AGAIN.. so I got these pics from Jan.. she is missing from the picture but you can check out her blog .. she is a wonderful stamper.
Here I am showing some of the great things that Paula brought to share with us...

We made memory books and they were so cute.. Linda and I are showing you the insides.. Oh and we called to ahead to see what to wear...LOL not really but we were wearing the same color shirts and cropped jeans.

My pictures won't go where I want them to.... and the blog has changed and is typing out in all the letters, I didn't change anything that I know of.. actually thought I was getting the hang of this.. LOL I have a busy week ahead getting things ready so I can leave for CA Friday.. my sister is throwing me a 50th Birthday Party.. can't wait some friends and family will be there. I will buy extra batteries so there will pics to share.

I have a couple sewing projects that will be posted soon also. I hope you all have a great week and find time to relax and do what makes you happy.

Tom Turkey...

Not much happening around here.. we had 2 little treaters for Halloween. I decided to move on to Thanksgiving.. LOL Although with 98 degree weather it's pretty hard. I hear next week it should cool down. Who heard of running your air conditioner in November?????????

OMG! I received an Ugly Mug Award from Brenda It's a wonderful award, it honors "any blogger who crafts, sews, quilts - you know, makes stuff - no matter how crappy (or how good). A way to say - I like your blog, like your stuff, and I'm pretty sure you have a good sense of humor." and was created by Megan at The Bitchy Stitcher.
Now I will pass it along to three creative bloggers that keep me wishing I could skip more of my "to do" and add more to my "I did it!" list!
I am a little behind on posting this award... I have been sooo busy being creative.. LOL I actually have had stamp classes and quilt classes and even a yard sale. So now I need to pick 3 people I feel inspire me.. well, that is very easy. There are way more than 3 though.. so when you don't see your name here it's not because you aren't creative it's because there just isn't enough room.. .. ..
1. Sharon, Red Geranium Cottage - Sharon's blog is a pick me up anytime you read it. She is a wiz with the camera. Never ( most never ) does she forget her camera at any event. She is always going somewhere, having PJ parties and making gifties for all her sistas or quilting on Miss Daisy. Her DH even gets in the action with his woodworking. She always says something to make you chuckle.

2. Kim's Big Quilting Adventure - OH MY this woman doesn't stop! Between thrift shops, work, quilting, canning, vacationing, decorating, classes you name it she is doing it. The woman has a sense of humor too!!. I missed blogging a couple days and she was saving the nation... LOL

3. Paula, Inking Addict - hence the name, Paula is the most talented of stampers. I met Paula thru stamping but to my surprise she is also a great quilter. We were meeting as a stamp group while she was vacationing here in Lake Havasu and low and behold.. I found her hanging out for the week at our local quilt store. She helped make quilts for our comfort quilt group to help homeless kids Plus sewed on quilts of her own. Paula, is a great stamper and shares her ideas once a year with a group of us stampin up demonstrators. Check out Paula's Blog!

Sew-What?

That's where I was on Saturday having a blast .... I taught my first quilt class and we had alot of fun.. I have a couple pictures only.. most were too blurry to post I don't know why I have so much trouble with them.

Pumpkins...

Tonight I went to our Demo meeting. Diane demonstrated this card.. I just love it. It's vellum embossed in a cuttlebug folder then we rubbed chalks on the vellum. The inside is a circle spiral and we just added the pumpkins to it to make a pop up inside.
Not much to talk about in the sewing room. I have stamp class this Friday and we are doing some great bags, tags, boxes and bows for gift giving.

Polka Dot Spoilin............ Good Mail Day!!

Well happy Saturday for ME! The doorbell rang and the postman had a box in his hands and pointed down on the porch where he had two more.. WOOOOO and HOOOOOO!!!
The first package was some fabric I got for grandma so she could finish the friendship braid she is making... She used Dandelion Girls from Moda. When she is done I will share a picture....
OH BOY.. then look at my little shelf. I am soooooooooooo please with how it turned out.. Sharon's hunka is making them.

The background is one of the quilts I am going to teach in a couple weeks.
Then............I opened the next box.. I didn't recongize the return address and I said OH YEAHHHHH it must be my Polka Dot Swap.. and yes it was.. I can't tell you how very spoiled I was by Carol. I opened a very cute polka dot pumpkin card....I kept pulling gift after gift out.. This is what I got..
the table runner is AWESOME!
I love the rick rack and I love the B O O buttons.. It's like Carol has known me forever.. I enjoy drinking out of BIG mugs and I LOVE scones... and Apple Cider Mix too. I can't wait to make them and serve them on the polka dot plates with Cider. Carol THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL MY GIFTS.. I also know you ripped I appreciate every little stitch the table runner will be on my table and on it will be my pumpkin candle plate and shade the rest of the fall season. My polka dot swap is still in progress but I will share pics this next week ... nooooo, I can't tell you who my partner is.. that wouldn't be fair now would it.. hehehehehehe.

Stamping Fun with Friends.........

I had a big stamping weekend.. Friday we just played with die cut machines like the Big Shot. It's new to Stampin Up' but many people have one kind or another. My camera batteries were dead so no pictures from Friday.. don't tell Sharon she is the best with her camera. I hear she is having a giveaway too.. so jump over and see what she is up to!! Back to stamping.. LOL Saturday night I had a workshop with 6 wonderful girls. This is what they made:

Santa is a mini candy bar cover.. isn't he just too cute! It's mostly using different punches. We put glitter all around the flowers that make his beard and the rim of his hat. The card is a simple monochramatic technique using Barely Banana colors and the sentiment says You are one of a kind.....just too easy peasy. Who doesn't love those little nugget chocolate candies?????? We dressed them up with some stamped cardstock. They used Halloween paper though and I didn't get pictures of those. I get alot of ideas from SU Bloggers and they are CASE's (Copy and Share Everything) Next month they are going to learn how to make the little matchbox to hold the nuggets. All made from cardstock. I demoed a Frankie bag that will be made at the Oct 17th class. It will be themed Bags, Tags, Boxes and Bows. He was loved by all I will put his picture up after that class. I demoed a Christmas card that will be part of the Christmas Stamp a STack that will be Nov 7. Stay tuned to see the future projects we make. Not much going on here....

These are 3 of the quilts I am teaching in October. I am so excited to be teaching at the local quilt store Sew What? I have one more sample but I am still working on it. Had a pretty boring week otherwise. Next week is my monthly stamp class and I will be working on projects this week. I will be able to share pics next weekend.

Bag Swap and Another Class Sample.

The weekend was full of sewing for me. I got a message from my partner Melinda from Linda's Bag and Bucket Swap that her swap arrived. I made this Santa Bag there was sneak peek in an earlier blog but I didn't say what it was. It's from Nancy Halvorsen Santa's Coming. Just as Santa's sack had goodies in it so did hers. I had so much fun making it. Melinda is happy too!

This is another one of my patterns I will be teaching. This pattern is so fun and easy. It was requested the class sample be made in reproduction fabrics. I will also be teaching Charms on Point. This is very exciting for me.
